The IUAES Anthropology of Risk and Disaster Commission (Chair: Dr. Susanna Hoffman, Deputy: Dr. Virginia Garcia-Acosta) calls for submissions of panels and papers on the “Crucial Subjects of Risk and Disaster” for presentation at the congress
To Submit Panel Topics:
Submit panel proposals for the 18th IUAES World Congress, “World (of) Encounters: The Past, Present and Future of Anthropological Knowledge,” to be held in Florianópolis in July 2018. The call for panel proposal will remain open until 30 October 2017. The web link for online submission of proposals will open shortly. Proposals for panels must be made by two anthropologists from different countries, according to the rules for proposals. Proposed panels should be related to one of the thematic lines of the World Congress.
Acceptance of panels will be announced on 15 November 2017. Coordinators of accepted panels are required to pay their registration fees between 15 November and 30 November 2017. Failure to do so will result in their panel being excluded from the program. A call for papers to be included in accepted panels will be open from 1 December 2017.
The deadline for individual papers will follow shortly and be open to all. Papers can be submitted to any panel topic or in general on the subject of risk and disaster to be placed on appropriate panels by the Commission.
